Costume to Custom is my long-time jewelry repurposing project. Although it has had many iterations since I started it in 2011, its mission has remained the same: to save jewelry from the landfill.
Currently, Costume to Custom consists of interesting jewelry pieces I have found while looking for jewelry to use in my puppetry (yup...you read that right!). I purchased these items because I thought they were delightful in design and merited getting a chance to be worn again.
The selection includes costume and fine jewelry from various eras, in a wide variety of styles and materials. All items are previously owned, and signs of wear are to be expected. However, all clasps and findings are fully functional. All pieces are fully cleaned and lightly polished. Whenever possible, materials are identified. Photos allow assessment of the quality, size and overall wear of each particular piece, but feel free to ask questions via messages.
