About Elise

Elise Kendrot is a mixed-media visual artist and writer whose work strongly identifies with parts and pieces. Her narrative artworks and writings often depict separate yet connected fragments of people, places, spaces, objects, beings, words, and ideas.

Elise is interested in seeing the world with awe, curiosity, and understanding. As creative, she aims to make work that investigates, questions and embodies insights related to truth, beauty and the nature of reality. Often made as quiet personal offerings, her artworks and writings act as personal talismans against angst, fear, despair and anger.

Elise holds a BFA in Sculpture from Syracuse University and an MA and MFA in Sculpture from the University of Iowa. A New York State native, she has lived in a variety of awe-inspiring places across the United States. Currently, she maintains her studio practice in Joliet, Illinois, where she also resides with her family.
