Elise Kendrot is a mixed-media artist whose work strongly identifies with places and people, environments and relationships. Her narrative sculptures and paintings often investigate humanity’s strained connections to the world around them. Elise aims to create beautiful, opulent objects which react to and contemplate situations and relationships she finds to be wanting. Made as quiet prayers for our rapidly changing times, they are personal talismans against loss and angst, fear and anger.
Elise holds a BFA from Syracuse University and an MA and MFA from the University of Iowa. She maintains her studio practice in Joliet, Illinois.
